Our Privacy Commitment
PocketGem AI Agent is designed with privacy as its foundation, not an afterthought. We believe that AI assistance should not come at the cost of your privacy.
- No Cloud Processing: All AI inference runs entirely on your device
- No Data Collection: We do not collect, store, or transmit your conversations
- No Analytics: We do not use analytics, tracking, or telemetry
- No Ads: The app is ad-free and does not profile users
Data Storage
Local Storage Only
All your data is stored locally on your device in an encrypted database:
- Conversation history
- Uploaded documents (for RAG search)
- App settings and preferences
- MCP server configurations
Credential Storage
Any API keys or credentials (such as Hugging Face tokens) are stored securely using Android Keystore encryption and never leave your device.
Network Usage
PocketGem AI Agent uses the network only in the following limited circumstances:
- Model Downloads: Downloading AI model weights from Hugging Face (one-time per model)
- Optional Web Search: When you explicitly use the web search tool
- Optional Weather: When you explicitly use the weather tool
- Optional MCP Servers: Only if you configure and connect to external MCP servers
You can enable "Offline Only" mode to block all network tools and ensure complete offline operation.
AI Processing
All AI inference happens on your device:
- Language models run locally using LiteRT/MediaPipe
- No conversations are sent to cloud APIs
- No data is used for model training
- Tool execution is transparent with visible reasoning traces
Document Processing
When you upload documents for RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation):
- Documents are processed and indexed locally
- Vector embeddings are stored on your device
- No documents are uploaded to any server
- You can delete documents and their embeddings at any time
Third-Party Services
The app may interact with third-party services only when you explicitly enable them:
- Hugging Face: For downloading model weights (requires your account)
- Web Search APIs: Only when you use the web search tool
- Weather APIs: Only when you use the weather tool
- MCP Servers: Only servers you explicitly configure
These services have their own privacy policies. We do not share any personal data with them beyond what is necessary for the specific function you requested.
Data Export & Deletion
You have complete control over your data:
- Export: Export conversations as plain-text files
- Delete: Delete individual conversations or all data
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all local data
Children's Privacy
PocketGem AI Agent is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
